Guizhou establishes committee for artificial intelligence

Southwest China's Guizhou province established a professional committee of artificial intelligence under the Association of Guizhou Big Data Development on Dec 5 to promote the application and development of artificial intelligence.

The professional committee will provide a platform for communication and exchange between the government and AI enterprises throughout the province. It will promote the collaborative development of AI companies through self-management, self-supervision and resource sharing.

During the professional committee's first general meeting, two AI companies and two colleges reached an understanding and signed cooperation agreements. They will invest 2 million yuan ($0.3 million) to build a demonstration base for the integration of industry and education as well as an AI laboratory.

The professional committee will integrate the AI industry's resources inside and outside the province, promoting the development of AI through talent training, contest preparation and academic exchange.
