The publication ceremony for China Data Valley (second edition) was held on Aug 21 in both Beijing and Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The book, compiled by the Big Data Strategy Laboratory and published by China Machine Press, comprehensively interprets what big data brings to Guizhou and Guiyang. It shares the stories and opportunities created by China's digital valley construction, and provides a successful case study for the country's digital development.
Lian Yuming, chief editor of the book and director of the Big Data Strategy Laboratory, said that the book is not only a comprehensive review of the city's five-year development of big data, but also a declaration of intent for its future development.
According to Lian, the book analyzes Guiyang's strategic vision to build itself into China's "Big Data Valley" in terms of the innovation of the China International Big Data Industry Expo, the integration of big data and the real economy, as well as the challenges in big data security.
It was reported that the first edition of the book, which systematically answered questions including why big data is rooted in Guizhou, once an underdeveloped region, was published in 2018.
Song Qing, executive director of Guiyang Innovation Driven Development Strategy Research Institute, said that the series of books will continuously research and summarize Guiyang's big data achievements.
