Scale of Guian's big data industry reaches 42.3b yuan in 2019

The total scale of the big data industry in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province reached 42.3 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent, according to the big data office of Guian New Area on April 13.

Officials said that Guian has made remarkable achievements in the construction of a national big data comprehensive pilot area, especially in the big data industrial clusters of electronic information manufacturing, data centers, as well as software and information technology services.

In 2019, the output value of the electronic information manufacturing industry in Guian has reached 25.9 billion yuan, an increase of 10.3 percent, accounting for 93.25 percent of the total industrial output value.

The profit-making service industries led by the software and information technology service industry have contributed more than 20 percent to the GDP of Guian, providing a strong impetus for economic development.

Data shows that the operating revenue of the software and information technology service industry has reached 4.3 billion yuan, an increase of 42.54 percent, twice the average growth rate of the province.

The competitiveness of local enterprises has increased rapidly. The business revenue of Baishan Cloud Co Ltd reached 1.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.22 percent, ranking among the top five in China's Content Delivery Network (CDN) market share.

Officials said that Guian has ranked first in the province in investment in information infrastructure. A total of 13 major projects in Guian have received an investment of 3.69 billion yuan.

In addition, Guian has taken practical and effective measures to promote big data investment attraction. A total of 21 big data projects with an investment of 34.1 billion yuan have been introduced to the area, accounting for 96.66 percent of the total investment projects.

Officials said that Guian will further strengthen its power in layout of industrial planning, industrial elements, investment attraction, and regional integration to promote big data industry development.
