Guiyang hospital set for month-end handover

Construction of Phase II of Guizhou Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University continued through the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, with 155 workers on site pushing ahead to finish work ahead of the planned handover at the end of October.

Interior finishing on the second and third floors is complete; the first floor is about 85 percent finished; and final work on the basement level is also underway. Electrical commissioning of the building systems has been completed, and integrated system testing is being prepared.

The main curtain wall structure is complete; workers are finishing joints and other details; and landscaping work is progressing outdoors. Radiation-shielding doors, a key part of the project's facilities for radioactive drug-based diagnosis and treatment, are also being installed.

Once completed, the project will further improve the hospital's facilities and clinical environment, strengthen its capacity to receive and treat patients, and help more residents access quality medical care closer to home.
