Guiyang expands free short-term apartments for young job seekers

To ease the financial burden on young people visiting the city for job interviews, civil service exams, or entrepreneurial projects, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area have expanded their free short-term accommodation program from 15 to 28 apartments, providing a total of 1,006 beds.

At Bocai No 99 Apartment in Yunyan district, clean corridors and well-maintained rooms offer a comfortable stay. Each apartment comes fully equipped with air conditioning, a refrigerator, a range hood, bedding, toiletries, and slippers, allowing guests to move in without purchasing additional daily necessities.

"The apartment is located in the city center, making it very convenient to get around," You Mengdi, a recent university graduate staying at the apartment while attending job interviews in Guiyang, said. "The apartment staff members also organize sessions introducing local talent policies, helping us better understand employment opportunities and housing support in Guiyang. It has made me more willing to build my career here."

The apartment currently offers 80 free beds. According to manager Wu Hemei, job seekers can apply through the Qingqing Guiyang WeChat account. First-time applicants are eligible for a free stay of up to six nights. Those who successfully secure employment in Guiyang can extend their stay free of charge for up to 30 additional days.

Since this year's graduation season began, the free short-term accommodation program has provided services to nearly 6,000 young people across the city.
