In recent years, Huaxi district has utilized its rural resources, with the vitalization of idle rural houses becoming a key practical vehicle for delivering tangible benefits to the people.
Huaxi has explored multiple unique vitalization strategies, transforming educational impacts on cultivating a correct view of governance achievements into tangible, actionable results for rural development.
Previously, Machang village in Qiantao township lacked organized village collective projects and had a very weak industrial base. Confronted with this challenge, the village Party branch proactively took action, capitalizing on its position along a tourism corridor and deciding to transform unused rural houses into a core strategy for promoting rural industrial growth.
To vitalize unused rural homes, Longjing village formed seven Party member task forces. Initially, villagers expressed various worries, such as risks from long-term lease agreements and the potential for businesses to fail, resulting in empty properties or financial losses. To address these concerns, task force cadres conducted multiple door-to-door visits, carefully explaining development opportunities and highlighting the benefits of local ethnic culture.
Driven by strong support from the Party organization, Longjing village used traditional resources to introduce and develop a diverse range of workshops – including embroidery, brewing, and traditional music workshops – transforming handicraft skills into cultural tourism products.
