Two Guiyang areas selected as 2024 China summer retreat destinations

The China Meteorological Service Association, in collaboration with the Beijing News' Seashell Finance, recently released the "2024 China meteorological tourism research report on summer retreat destinations".

Based on regional characteristics, climate features, historical meteorological data, and climate predictions, the report evaluated 60 summer retreat destinations out of 181 total, covering seven major categories, including mountains, forests, rural areas, lakes, coastal areas, stargazing, and cultural sites.

Among them, the Kaiyang Shili Hualang tourism area and Zhucheng Square in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, were selected among rural summer retreat destinations and cultural summer retreat destinations, respectively.

In recent years, Guiyang has become a popular choice for avoiding the summer heat. According to data from Tongcheng Travel, Guiyang ranks among the top 10 destinations for summer retreat travel bookings, with its uniquely pleasant climate boosting its summer economy.

With the innovation and enrichment of summer retreat products, Guiyang offers a diverse range of summer retreat experiences, including the Zhucheng Square cultural retreat tour that made the list due to the addition of roadside music concerts.

Zhucheng Square serves multiple functions, including hosting gatherings and providing a place for leisure, culture, historical commemoration, and commerce.

This year, a variety of exciting roadside music concerts have been staged here, ranging from ethnic music to pop music, from professional performances to amateur enthusiasts showcasing their talents, offering a continuous musical feast that showcases the cultural charm of Guiyang.

On the other hand, the Kaiyang Shili Hualang tourism area is renowned for its return-to-nature rural style and relaxing summer retreat experiences. The picturesque rural scenery, endless outdoor fruit-picking, cool and pleasant mountain streams, and comfortable and cozy homestays make it an ideal place for visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a leisurely eco-friendly travel experience.

In recent years, Guiyang has won numerous awards on domestic and international summer retreat lists. Every year, tens of thousands of tourists converge in Guiyang to experience the coolness and beauty here, witnessing together the vigorous rise of the "cool economy".
