Qingyun Market in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is often crowded with tourists, leading to increasingly severe parking problems. However, this situation has recently changed.
The Qingyun Road public parking lot is located at the intersection of Qingyun Road and Huannan Alley in Nanming district, at the entrance of Qingyun Market.
The surrounding area is densely packed with supermarkets, residential areas, office buildings, and schools, leading to significant parking pressure.
This new multi-level parking lot only accounts for one-fourth of the area of a traditional parking lot. It is currently the largest of its kind in Guiyang.
The total land area of the Qingyun Road public parking lot is 5,205.76 square meters, with a total construction area of 21,339.7 sq m. It has 729 parking spaces, including 663 mechanical parking spaces.
The parking area has three underground floors and 11 above-ground floors, with commercial areas on the first to third floors, covering an area of approximately 3,600 sq m.
The parking lot started operation in early May, meeting the parking needs of residents in the old residential communities around it, as well as visitors to Qingyun Market.
It adopts a one-way entry and exit for parking and retrieval, with drivers entering from the east side and exiting from the west side of the parking lot. The mechanical parking system can achieve fully automatic parking and retrieval.
When parking, the driver just needs to drive the vehicle into the elevator of the multi-level garage before getting out, and the system will automatically place the vehicle in the parking space. After retrieving the vehicle, drivers can enter Huannan Alley from the north or west entrance on the underground first floor.
There is an intelligent terminal for parking in front of each parking garage, allowing people to retrieve their vehicle using a QR code, facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, or inputting license plate numbers. The average retrieval time is about one and a half minutes.
The mechanical parking system allows for the parking of ordinary cars, SUVs, and off-road vehicles, specifically those with a length of less than 5.3 meters, a width of less than 1.95 meters, a height of less than 2.05 meters, and a weight of less than 2.35 metric tons.
