Super-intelligent computing power project settles in Gui'an

The signing ceremony for the Weixin super-intelligent integrated computing power center project – a key project in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area's supercomputer infrastructure layout – took place in the Gui'an Free Trade Zone on Feb 22.

This is the first key project of Gui'an and Gui'an Free Trade Zone signed after the Lunar New Year.

Li Naiqing, Secretary of the Party Branch and Deputy Director of Sun Yat-sen University's National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou, introduced that the project will establish an advanced computing infrastructure in Gui'an to meet the urgent demand for efficient computing power in this AI era.

The project is expected to have a total investment of 3 billion yuan, with the goal of building a high-end computing leasing platform with a capacity of 5120P. It will be developed in three phases, with an initial investment of approximately 500 million yuan to achieve a capacity of 1024P, and globally leading computing equipment will be purchased to serve customers with top-notch computing capabilities.

Li stated that the national supercomputing ecology is closely related to the newly built intelligent computing center project in Gui'an. The project will become a new stronghold for the development of the supercomputing, artificial intelligence, big data analysis, and cloud computing sectors.

The center and Gui'an Free Trade Zone will leverage their respective policy and resource advantages to advance together in the fields of supercomputing and artificial intelligence, seeking mutual benefits and win-win results. They will also jointly strive to establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship, stated Li.

An official from the Gui'an Free Trade Zone said that the project will further promote the deep integration and development of the industrial chain, innovation chain, and talent chain, thereby supporting the comprehensive advancement of technological innovation, the digital economy, and the integrated development of the computing power industry in Guiyang and Gui'an.

The zone will further strengthen its cooperation in multiple fields with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, thus injecting impetus into the high-quality development of Guiyang and Gui'an.

Additionally, the zone will ride the wave of national supercomputing construction in order to carry out joint technological breakthroughs and market expansion. It will also make every effort to ensure the project starts construction as soon as possible by creating a favorable business environment.
