Last year, the total output value of electronic information manufacturing above a designated size in Guiyang city and Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, reached 38.48 billion yuan ($5.58 billion), up 14.4 percent from the previous year.
In addition, the operating income of internet and related services, software and information technology services above a designated size reached 55.66 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 103.3 percent.
The scale and growth rate of the software service industry both rank first among the key industries in the city, and its contribution rate to economic growth has reached 44.5 percent.
Total telecommunications service revenue in Guiyang and Guian was 9.71 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.6 percent, accounting for 21.7 percent of the total in the province.
In 2022, Guiyang and Guian launched 11 new key data center projects, 50 percent more than in 2014. Internet infrastructure received an investment of 3.38 billion yuan, with the outbound bandwidth reaching 10,000 gigabits per second, and 7,302 new 5G base stations were built, bringing the total number to 22,000.
In the meantime, Guiyang Sci-tech Innovation City is now home to 409 enterprises related to big data, with more than 10,000 talents in the field. It achieved a revenue of 10.8 billion yuan, collaborated with data centers in the area, and became the preferred place in Guizhou for digital economy enterprises to invest.
In 2023, Guiyang and Guian will tackle key issues in electronic information manufacturing, boost software industry development, promote digital new infrastructure construction, encourage the integration of enterprises and big data, construct digital application scenarios, upgrade the branding of the big data industry, and support the development of digital economy.
