Affordable rental housing being built in Guiyang city

The city of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will this year build around 33,000 units with affordable rent for residents with housing difficulties, according to the Guiyang bureau of housing and urban-rural development.

At present, 61 projects involving 21,728 units have started construction, with the remaining 11,143 units to start construction sequentially.

The bureau has established a special team for the preparation of affordable rental housing projects, setting up five working groups to research and implement major issues and key tasks.

Following the drafting of a three-year action plan, a database for affordable rental housing projects has been created, and the project’s schedule has been set out, with the project launch and delivery standards clarified.

At the same time, the bureau carried out special inspections on the construction of the city's 2022 talent-subsidized rental housing projects in the first and second quarters of this year, holding a project construction promotion meeting to assess the progress and examine the difficulties the projects encountered.

The purpose was to ensure that preparatory tasks for the construction of affordable rental housing in Guiyang this year will be completed on time and with a guaranteed quality.
