Guiyang's farmhouses take on new look

In order to improve the living environment in rural areas, the Guiyang bureau of housing and urban-rural development carried out a series of rural housing renovation tasks at the beginning of the year.

This year's farmhouse style renovation project in Baiyun district has already been fully launched. The demolition and construction of 373 farm houses, the renovation of facades, and the upgrading and reconstruction of 182 houses are in progress.

Gubao town, Xiuwen county has carried out the pilot construction of one municipal and one county-level livable farm house, optimized 132 houses to make them more livable, and completed renovations on 100 houses.

During the construction process, the town decided to substitute rewards for subsidies, first building and then subsidizing, and rewarding and subsidizing up to a certain standard, to mobilize villagers to participate in the construction of livable farm houses.

"The municipal government provides us with building materials, and I worked hard to repair my flower pond and fence. My courtyard has changed a lot," said Lu Zaiguo, a resident of Pingzhai village, on June 22.
