The heads of seven Guiyang municipal departments – including the Guiyang bureau of housing and urban-rural development – recently visited two colleges to hold the 2022 graduate employment and entrepreneurship work symposium and recruitment fair.

The two colleges are Guizhou Economic and Trade Vocational and Technical College and Qiannan Normal University for Nationalities.

The purpose is to implement "Talent Month" activities in Guiyang and Guian in Southwest China's Guizhou province in 2022 and to boost employment and entrepreneurship among Guiyang and Guian graduates of the two colleges this year.

The bureau organized for 50 high-quality enterprises in various related fields in Guiyang and Guian to participate in the recruitment activities, and provided more than 900 jobs for graduating students onsite.

At the same time, the bureau also introduced policies regarding graduate employment and entrepreneurship, housing purchases, and housing subsidies for talent working in the city.

Deputy Director Xu Chunbo emphasized that Guiyang plans to build 70,000 rooms for talent during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), while 16,000 rooms will become available this year.

This is expected to meet the daily needs of talent at colleges, solve housing difficulties faced by graduates, and better retain talent for Guiyang and Guian.

The bureau will also further optimize employment and talent services of college graduates.
