Guiyang plans to reform shanty towns for 60,000 households

According to news from the Guiyang bureau of housing and urban-rural development, the city of Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province successfully carried out 94 shanty town renovation projects in 2021.

The city plans to continue reforming an additional 60,000 households this year and ensure coordination with the 15-minute community living circle program, which aims to enable everybody to access basic necessities within a 15-minute walk from home.

The government will also try to gain financial support at the national and provincial levels, and explore the new "social capital + platform corporations" model to encourage social groups to join in renovation work.
