Guiyang aims for people-oriented urbanization

High-quality city and people-oriented urbanization were recently urged in a municipal meeting in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province. 

Zhou Rong, an official from the Guiyang bureau of housing and urban-rural development, said the bureau will prioritize the renovation or rebuilding of old residences, villages in cities, and abandoned factories in urban areas. 

The Qingfeng No 1 residential building has been in use for more than 20 years in Yunyan district and is plagued with a congested sewer network, bumpy roads, and water leakage in the walls.

The district government will renovate seven such residential buildings that accommodate over 220 households. 

The district currently has completed eight old residential community renovation programs, with only one to fulfill for the rest of the year.
