A symposium was held on July 13 at the Guiyang bureau of housing and urban-rural development in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province. It was designed to ensure that by August 15, all land in shantytowns will be ready to go through an online transfer process, if possible.
The bureau urged government bodies and units involved to respond proactively and quicken their steps in preliminary land planning, handling procedures necessary to complete the transfer from rural to construction lands, and taking actions based on rural residents' needs.
Officials were also required to carefully estimate the costs of the land reconstruction program and lay a solid foundation for future investment in the land.
