A meeting to boost Guiyang and Guian New Area's modern agriculture was held on July 14 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province. Eight specific plans to drive the high-quality development of the two regions' modern agriculture were released during the meeting.

The plans are centered on agriculture-related funds, modern farming, agricultural product processing, agricultural brand improvement, social services in agriculture, and pilot zones for rural rejuvenation.

The two regions plan to set up systematic goals for the modern farming industry by implementing five major programs on breeding protection, innovation, promotion, and management.

Plans are that by the end of 2021, the agricultural product processing sector is to achieve 65 billion yuan in output value, which by 2025 will exceed 120 billion, and the agricultural products' processing and conversion rate is to reach 75 percent during the same period. By then, the number of agricultural product processing corporations will surpass 200 in the two regions.

Local agricultural brands will be further developed and guided by principles of sustainability, high-quality, distinctiveness, standardization, and intensiveness.

The number of recognized organic foods, green agricultural products, and geographical indication products is expected to surpass 90 in 2021, 100 in 2022, and 110 in 2023.
