Meeting held to discuss renovation of Guiyang's old residential areas

Guiyang's bureau of housing and rural-urban development held a meeting on April 28 with Zongheng Group, the company that is to take charge of the renovation work of the city's old residential areas.

Officials from the bureau, the project manager from Zongheng Group and representatives from Nanming and Yunyan districts joined in the discussions at the meeting.

Zongheng Group is a comprehensive IT service provider that deals with application development of the internet and the internet of things and offers smart city solutions.

The company's project manager outlined how the old communities in Guiyang would be renovated, including the project's background, investment plan and operation pattern.

Zhang Li, deputy director of the bureau, then put forward several requirements on behalf of the city government.

The renovation work is intended to be a fundamentally people-oriented program, which requires the company to target the problems that concern residents' interests most. To raise the feasibility of the project, it is necessary to conduct a pre-judgment on the reconstruction standards, investments, idle space distribution and operational patterns.

The renovation work should be planned based on the actual conditions of the old urban areas, and it can be carried out within a pilot zone if needed.

Guided by the local government and carried out by enterprises, the project will be supervised by a third party, who will conduct a systematic assessment on the lawfulness of the renovation work.
