Guiyang advances construction of rail transit line 3

The construction of the Guiyang Urban Rail Transit Line 3 is now in full swing in Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The first phase of the project, which runs through the north and south of Guiyang city, is regarded an important line connecting Huaxi, Nanming, Yunyan and Wudang districts.

It is seen as being of great significance to the balanced and coordinated development of the north and south sections of Guiyang, the improvement of the Guiyang subway network, as well as the entire public transportation system.

Extending some 43 kilometers, the first phase starts at Tongmuling in Huaxi district and ends at Luowan in Wudang district and has 29 stations.

According to the schedule, construction will take five years. To date, the main structures of 14 stations have been completed and capped.

Eight single-track sections of the line have reportedly been connected and 54 percent of all civil engineering has been completed.
