Guiyang subway Line 2 entered trial operation on Dec 29. The train of subway Line 2 has white and black as its base colors. The front of the train is shaped like a smiling face which implies the hospitality of Guiyang people and the smiling service concept of Guiyang Urban Rail Transit. The shape of the blue lines on the train’s body is taken from the water tabling of Jiaxiu Pavilion, which represents purity and peace. The overall theme of the green and ecological subway is colorful Guizhou, and adopts Guizhou’s mountains and rivers, the Jiaxiu Pavilion and dragon fossils as its design elements.
Each of the 2.8 meters wide and 119.88 meters long trains can hold up to 2,062 people. They can travel at 80 km per hour and 90% percent of their components are made in China.
Subway Line 2 is 40.6 kilometers in length and has 32 stations stretched across Baiyun district, Guanshanhu district, Yunyan district, Nanming district and the Shuanglong airport economic zone. All stations of Line 2 have ticketing centers, washrooms, escalators and sidewalks for persons with visual disabilities.
To ensure the safety of its operation, Line 2 will undergo trial operations without passengers for no fewer than 90 days to test equipment functions and system stability. During the trail operation period, Line 2 will further test the stability of the signal system and improve its quality.
Line 2 is scheduled to officially open in the first half of 2021. When it does Guiyang urban rail transit will not only relieve traffic congestion in downtown areas but also expand their functional spaces to push forward the city’s economic development.
