Xiuwen sets GDP target over next five years

Xiuwen county aims to lift its gross domestic product (GDP) beyond 32 billion yuan ($4.87 billion) over the next five years, striving to reach new heights in economic and social development.

In terms of industrial upgrading, the county will advance intelligent, green, and integrated industrial development to build a modern industrial system with distinctive Xiuwen features. It will refine its signature agriculture of kiwifruit, raw pork, and vegetables, and develop under‑forest industries tailored to local conditions.

It will extend industrial chains and build industrial clusters for advanced equipment manufacturing and eco‑friendly specialty food. It will also explore emerging tracks such as the low‑altitude economy and clean energy.

Moreover, the county will advance the integrated development of culture, tourism, sports, and commerce focusing on tertiary industries.

Xiuwen will advance new-type urbanization and promote coordinated development between the county and industrial parks. Channels will be opened up for the two-way flow of urban and rural resources.

The county will work toward carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, develop a green circular economy, and advance the green and low-carbon transition of production and lifestyles.

In terms of people's wellbeing, Xiuwen will make basic public services more equitable, inclusive, and accessible, ensuring the fruits of development benefit all local residents in a fairer way.
