The "2024 summer travel trends report" recently released by online travel agency Tongcheng Travel revealed that Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, ranked 19th among the top 20 most popular destinations for air travel during the 2024 summer season.

Due to heavy rainfall during the flood season, Guiyang has not yet seen a significant increase in air passenger traffic. The 2024 summer aviation season began on July 1 and will last until around the end of August.

During this period, Guiyang, known as a popular summer resort and the first stop for tourists visiting Guizhou, is expected to experience a substantial increase in air passenger volume.

In order to meet travel demand during the summer peak, the Guizhou branch of China Southern Airlines has coordinated flights and increased capacity in Guizhou in early summer.

It planned an average of 90 flights per day in June, and increased the frequency of flights on popular routes such as Guiyang to Urumqi and Guiyang to Shenzhen.

To promote the high-quality development of tourism in Guizhou and enrich tourism product offerings, Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group has introduced 14 connected flight routes since March 31 this year.

On May 5, flights from Xingyi to Libo and Xingyi to Tongren began operation daily. Additionally, the group has implemented exclusive services, providing personal guidance, check-in counters, security lanes, waiting areas, and tour bus parking lots for tourists flying on these connected flights.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the upcoming peak summer air travel season and to better serve arriving passengers, Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group will strengthen management of sanitary conditions and operational order, as well as address any facility equipment malfunction at airport terminals.

It will also enhance preparations for extreme weather in summer, and mechanisms of operational security and emergency response for flood season to ensure safety.
