Wind power project starts operation in Xiuwen

Dongfang Electric Wind Power Co held the launch ceremony of its first wind turbine generator at the Dongfang Wind Power (Guiyang) Base in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 20.

Dongfang Electric Wind Power Co has actively explored the wind power market in Guizhou, and contributed to the establishment of Dongfang Electric Wind Power (Guiyang) Co.

With a planned investment of about 1 billion yuan ($139.13 million), the project includes wind power machine manufacturing production lines, a wind power technology training center, a wind farm smart operation and maintenance center, and other related supporting facilities.

It will mainly produce 5-megawatt to 8-MW high-power wind turbines that are suitable for China's southwest region. 

After the project is completed and reaches production, its annual sales revenue is expected to exceed 1 billion yuan. This will help wind power development projects across the province shorten transportation cycles, and promote the pace of on-site development and transformation of wind storage resources.

Additionally, this project is expected to create more than 200 jobs.
