In 2023, Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, actively promoted the high-quality development of the digital economy, achieving remarkable results.
E-commerce lead to a surge in sales of Xiuwen kiwi fruit, with preliminary estimates showing that more than 1 million orders were place for the fruit, a year-on-year increase of more than 10 percent.
The development and construction of communication infrastructure has also been advanced, and the popularization of broadband networks at the county, township and village levels has been increased.
To date, Xiuwen has built 1,046 5G base stations, achieving full 5G network coverage in Longchang and Zhazuo sub-districts, Jiuchang urban areas, and industrial parks. Villages with more than 20 households have been connected to optical fiber cables, and fiber broadband in more than 80 percent of areas has been upgraded from 100M to 1000M.
Xiuwen has also promoted the upgrading of enterprises through big data, leading to a number of successes. For example, the 5G factory project of Guizhou Tyre Co was included in the 2023 5G Factory Directory of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Several demonstration projects have been created, such as the Shougang Guigang Intelligent Manufacturing Construction Project and Haoyiduo Customized Dairy Intelligent Production Big Data Platform.
