Xiuwen No 1 High School designated as provincial demonstration for traditional culture

The Guizhou Provincial Department of Education awarded the title of Guizhou Characteristic Demonstration High School for Traditional Culture to Xiuwen No 1 High School in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Xiuwen No 1 High School is located at the site of the Xiuwen Academy Palace in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), covering an area of 70.8 mu (4.72 hectares).

In 1508, the great Confucian Wang Yangming attained enlightenment in Xiuwen and founded Longgang Academy to give lectures and preach. Longgang Academy was moved to the current site of Xiuwen No 1 High School in 1785.

In recent years, the school has relied on cultural resources to promote traditional culture. The school's software and hardware facilities have been continuously improved, with a focus on traditional culture education.

After years of unremitting efforts, the school overflows with an atmosphere of excellent traditional Chinese culture, from small landscapes to large buildings, from hardware facilities to school buildings and classrooms.
