Xiuwen advances kiwi fruit industry

Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has a subtropical and south temperate monsoon climate and fertile soil, making it a key area for kiwi fruit cultivation.

With strong support from Guiyang and Guizhou, the kiwi fruit industry in Xiuwen has developed various products such as kiwi juice, dried fruit, yogurt, seed oil, and kiwi biscuits, all of which are health-conscious food choices.

Over the years, Xiuwen kiwi fruit has obtained multiple titles, including the geographical indication trademark and the national geographical indication protected product.

The Guiyang North Agricultural Product Logistics Park has now been built, serving as a trading platform that combines agricultural product trading, processing, and storage. It provides strong support for the logistics, transportation, and sales trading system of kiwi fruit and other agricultural products.

The main variety of Xiuwen kiwi fruit is called "Guichang," which possesses distinct regional and varietal characteristics.

Xiuwen kiwi fruit is abundant in folic acid, flavonoids, dietary fiber, amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. Its flesh is delicate, fragrant, and sticky, with a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. It can withstand long storage and has a protracted shelf life.

Efforts have been made in quality control, cultivation management, supervisory control, demonstration experimentation, and honorary applications to enhance the foundation of the local kiwi fruit industry.

Meanwhile, Xiuwen has placed an emphasis on brand regulation, market expansion, publicity and promotion, and financial support, in a bid to strengthen the production of this cherished fruit and related operations of industry players.
