The Guizhou Department of Culture and Tourism announced a tentative list of selected demonstration sites for the deep integration of rural tourism, traditional villages, and ethnic villages for 2023 on Nov 2.

A total of 11 villages were selected in the province, including Damu village in Liutun town of Xiuwen county, making it the only village in Guiyang to be selected.

Damu village is a traditional Bouyei ethnic village and a renowned red culture village.

Nestled deep in the mountains, the village boasts a beautiful environment and breathtaking scenery, including ancient ginkgo trees, Jinye Lake, and the Erdong Tiansheng Bridge.

It has been honored with dozens of titles, including "National Forest Village," "National Ethnic Village," and "Key Village for Rural Tourism in Guizhou Province."

Additionally, the village is a demonstration site for rural vitalization at the provincial, city, and county levels.

In recent years, the village has been giving full play to its ethnic cultures.

It has developed rural residential industries and built attractions such as the Taoyuan River Camping Base, which has become popular online.

The village receives over 200,000 visits each year, and rural tourism is thriving, with a per capita disposable income of 23,170 yuan ($3,187.23).

Now, the village is working toward the goal of becoming a rural micro-vacation travel destination, making continuous efforts to explore high-quality industrial development in rural tourism throughout the province.
