It is currently peak season for kiwi fruit in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and livestreaming e-commerce has become an important way to expand the local market for agricultural products.
Guizhou Panli Technology Co promotes local resources and high-quality products through the online and offline sales of agricultural products, while also providing jobs for local villagers.
"We promote Xiuwen kiwi fruit using both online and offline methods. This year, through platforms such as Douyin and Kuaishou, we introduced Xiuwen kiwi fruit to people outside Guizhou, and the effect has been good," said Pan Li, head of operations at Guizhou Panli Technology Co.
Cheng Lanxiang, head of the e-commerce office at the county's bureau of commerce, said, "This year, we have conducted nine e-commerce training sessions with over 1,000 participants. As a result, there are now over 100 shops on the Douyin platform selling Xiuwen kiwi fruit."
In 2021, Xiuwen successfully applied for the national e-commerce demonstration county project. Since 2021, the entire county has conducted over 8,000 e-commerce training sessions, creating over 1,700 jobs and businesses, cultivating 13 e-commerce entrepreneurial leaders, and nurturing 15 livestreaming e-commerce experts.
Nearly 1 million orders for Xiuwen kiwi fruit have been sold on e-commerce platforms so far in 2023, weighing over 2.5 million kilograms.
