Construction on tire-production project begins in Xiuwen

Construction on a project by Guizhou Qianjin Rubber and Plastic Technology Co to produce 1.2 million inner tubes and 1.2 million tire chafing strips annually started in Xiuwen county in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held on Jan 8 in Xiuwen county.

The project will focus on manufacturing of products related to automobile tires.

The project, which has a total planned investment of 64 million yuan ($9.43 million), will be built in the county's industrial park, covering a floor area of 25,920.13 square meters and involving two plants and one additional building.

The project will be built in two phases. The production site of inner tubes and tire chafing strips will be addressed in the first phase to create conditions for the production of butyl inner tubes. The second phase will focus on the production of rubber tracks, air springs, bicycle tires and other products with high added value.

The project is expected to be completed in 12 months and is estimated to achieve an annual output value of 106.99 million yuan at full capacity.

It will also create 170 jobs and indirectly drive the development of upstream and downstream industries such as rubber planting, logistics and other service industries.
