Xiuwen Yangming Academy established

The Xiuwen Yangming Academy was unveiled in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 6.

The academy consists of a main academy and a sub-academy, which are located on the east and west banks of the Waguanyao River in Xiuwen. respectively.

The academy, focusing on Yangming Culture, will build itself into an international Yangming cultural research center, Yangming classics display center, and Yangming cultural industry development demonstration center to boost the creative transformation of Yangming culture.

Yangming culture is centered around and named after the famous neo-Confucian philosopher Wang Yangming, who lived during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
