In the face of a flood of patients infected with COVID-19, the Xiuwen County People's Hospital in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has formulated medical treatment plans to ensure the medical needs of residents.
The number of patients with fever has increased, and demand for hospitalization in the departments of infectious diseases, respiratory medicine, and pediatrics has increased.

The hospital has broken the original fixed bed management systems, opened the beds in each ward up to the whole hospital, and expanded the hospital's beds from the original 448 to 568.
Four additional consultation rooms have been set up in the fever clinic. The obstetrics, gynecology, and physical examination centers as well as the original gynecological ward and physical examination center now serve as inpatient wards for the department of cardiology aimed at the treatment of elderly patients.
To ensure quality medical treatment, the hospital requires that in the process of medical treatment, the rescue system for critically ill patients, consultation and discussion system for difficult cases, and overall nursing system should be strictly implemented.
Also, the hospital distributed traditional Chinese medicine decoctions for the prevention of COVID-19 to about 2,000 people within five days in order to enhance the immunity of medics in the hospital and reduce the risk of COVID-19.
