Over the past decade, Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has prioritized poverty alleviation and promoted rural vitalization.

As a result, the county's 2,177 registered poverty-stricken households containing 6,077 people have all been lifted out of poverty.

The county's four main industries – vegetables, livestock, fruit and medicine - have continued to develop.

Xiuwen kiwi fruit has a planting area of 167,000 mu (11,133.33 hectares), the third largest in the country and largest in the province.

Since last year, Xiuwen has focused on the construction of a number of provincial, municipal and county-level rural vitalization demonstration pilot projects, such as Suoqiao village in Gubao town, Damu village in Liutun town, and Qingshan village in Saping town.

The production and living conditions in the county have been further improved, with the foundation for industrial development further consolidated.

Xiuwen is taking rural vitalization as its top priority and striving to build a new Xiuwen with a stronger economy, more beautiful urban and rural environment, healthier natural environment, richer culture, and better quality of life.
