Xiuwen makes efforts to develop pharmaceutical industry

Xiuwen Industrial Park in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is home to the highest concentration of pharmaceutical companies anywhere in Guizhou, with 25 pharmaceutical enterprises currently operating in the park, including 17 above a designated size.

There are 368 registered products developed by pharmaceutical enterprises above a designated size in the county, 38 of which are included in the national essential medicine catalogue, and 43 of which are exclusive to the company.

In 2021, the total output value of pharmaceutical enterprises in Xiuwen was 1.19 billion yuan ($180.04 million), accounting for 6.4 percent of the output of industries above a designated size. The industrial added value of these enterprises amounted to 350 million yuan.

To further promote the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry, this year, Xiuwen will seek to improve policy guidance and boost industrial development.

Enterprises will be encouraged to use new methods and new technologies to expand and strengthen products.

The county will also ensure industrial service guarantees and policy support so that enterprises can maximize cost reduction and production capacity, and further transform and upgrade.
