The Xiuwen campus of the Shizhen College at Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) received its first batch of students on Sept 24.
The campus is located in Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

From Sept 24 to 29, more than 9,000 students and more than 200 faculty members will enter the campus for a new semester.
The Shizhen College of Guizhou University of TCM is named after TCM expert Li Shizhen (1518-93). It is an independent college established in June 2001 under the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial Government.
The Xiuwen campus covers an area of 551.95 mu (36.8 hectares) with a building area of 500,000 square meters and is designed to accommodate 16,000 students.

The college will be built in two phases. An area of 220,000 sq m has been completed so far, along with six student dorms, two teaching buildings, one canteen, and one library.
The second phase includes the construction of six student apartments, one teacher's apartment, one canteen, an administrative building, an academic exchange center, and an entrepreneurship practice base. It is planned for completion in September 2022.
The college will also feature an undergraduate college of TCM that integrates education, scientific research, medical treatment, and cultural communication.
The college will significantly improve the educational and medical conditions in Xiuwen and enhance regional value.
