Xiuwen county – administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has made concerted efforts to boost new industries and rolled out other initiatives in a push to stimulate consumer spending.

The county became a national demonstration county for e-commerce application in rural areas in 2021.

It is understood that Xiuwen has also promoted the development of a modern trading ecosystem. It has built an e-commerce public service center, 85 e-commerce service stations and one county level logistics distribution center.

Reports are that a unified county, township and village-level logistic system has been established there.

It's estimated that since 2021, more than 20 e-commerce livestreaming activities have been held in Xiuwen, leading to the placement of more than 30,000 orders.

Xiuwen has also actively guided the transformation and development of traditional retail enterprises, while promoting the construction of a 15-minute community convenience business circle to meet the needs of the people in terms of easy shopping.

Meanwhile, the county has accelerated the development of its night economy. It has reportedly set up more than 150 after-dark stands and mobile vendors, with operating times of 7 pm to 2 am.
