The rural revitalization bureau of Xiuwen county in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was unveiled on June 10.

The bureau is mainly responsible for consolidating and expanding the results of poverty alleviation and promoting specific work related to rural revitalization, marking a shift in the official focus of Xiuwen's san nong (farmers, villages and agriculture) work from poverty alleviation to rural revitalization.

Since the fight against poverty began, the county's 2,177 households with 6,077 registered poor people have all been steadily lifted out of poverty, and 1,450 people from 387 households moved to new homes, successfully completing the historic battle against poverty.

Cheng Qiang, deputy secretary of the Xiuwen Party committee, said the bureau will provide strong support for Xiuwen's goal to reach the forefront of rural revitalization and demonstration.

Xiuwen county will continue to promote the spirit of poverty alleviation and make new breakthroughs in rural revitalization.

It will vigorously implement rural construction actions, rural civilization construction actions and social governance actions. Xiuwen will also accelerate the pace of agricultural and rural modernization and promote high-quality and high-efficiency agriculture, livable and workable rural areas and prosperity for farmers.
