Xiuwen county promotes rural revitalization

Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken kiwi fruit as its leading industry and built a national modern agricultural industrial park.

The county has fully integrated big data technology in developing the kiwi fruit industry, creating the agricultural cloud system platform.

The platform realizes the coverage of the entire industry chain, including seedling breeding, planting, harvesting, sorting, processing and market sales.

At present, the platform has obtained 25 patents.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Xiuwen county will promote agricultural modernization and rural revitalization.

Guided by the construction of a national modern agricultural industrial park, the county will focus on the four dominant industries of vegetables, livestock, fruit and medicine, with kiwi fruit as the primary focus. It will make every effort to promote the development of large-scale, standardized and branded agriculture.

By 2025, the planting area of specialty fruits in the county will reach 350,000 mu (23,333.33 hectares), mainly kiwi fruit, and the planting area of vegetables will reach 380,000 mu.

The county will also have more than 500,000 pigs by 2025.

Also, the disposable income of rural residents in the county will be more than 27,000 yuan ($4,179.31).
