Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a commencement ceremony for the construction of 22 major projects with a total investment of 1.72 billion yuan ($251.1 million) on March 27, as the situation of COVID-19 pandemic is easing.
The event was held at the construction site of Yonghui Logistics Park, which is one of the projects to be started.
With a total investment of 350 million yuan, plans are for the park to be an industrial chain production and processing base in Southwest China.
It will integrate commodities and agricultural product processing, procurement, cold chain storage, cold chain distribution, commodity research and development, commodity testing, displays, settlements and supply chain services.
The project has a total planning area of about 130 mu (8.67 hectares) and a construction area of 100,000 square meters. After completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of over 1 billion yuan and generate annual tax payments of 10 million yuan, providing 500 jobs.
The major projects to be started include seven agriculture projects, as well as forestry, animal husbandry and fishery industries and three urban construction projects. There will be three economic and trade circulation projects, three social undertaking projects, five manufacturing projects and one ecological environmental protection project.
The county will take it as an opportunity to push forward with project construction at full speed and will provide strong support for the success of the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control and the realization of economic and social development.
