Xiuwen Experimental Primary School

Xiuwen Experimental Primary School is located in the Xiuwen County, about 40 kilometers away from Guiyang, the provincial capital. It is a full-time primary school integrating historical and cultural traditions with the innovations of the times. It has a history of 110 years. The existing campus, which was officially put into use in Sept 2008, was built on the original site after the old campus was demolished in 2006. The new campus covers an area of 12,672 square meters and has a building area of 6,700 square meters. The teaching building has 30 ordinary classrooms and is able to accommodate about 2,000 students. There are 8 special classrooms, including a lecture theatre, a dance room and a nature room. 

The school now has 31 classes, more than 2,070 students, 84 faculty members and 83 full-time teachers, including 53 senior teachers, 5 county-level backbone teachers, 8 municipal-level ones and 2 provincial-level ones. There are also 12 municipal-level backbone class teachers, 1 provincial-level backbone class teacher, 4 county-level academic leaders and 2 municipal-level ones. 

Over the years, the school has paid great attention to research and development. To standardize services, build characteristic disciplines, increase education quality and improve management, it is consistently conducting teaching research, strengthening classroom effectiveness, and improving extracurricular activities and the quality of students. In recent years, it has been rated a "National Advanced Experimental School" by the Project Team Specializing in Curriculum Reform in Fundamental Education, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Education. It has also been made a"Model Experimental School" by Guizhou Provincial Department of Education; a "Guiyang Demonstration School in Science and Technology Education" by Guiyang Science and Technology Association; an "Excellent School" and "Safe and Civilized Campus" by Guiyang Municipal Bureau of Education; an"Advanced collective in building Guiyang into a national health city, a national model city in environmental protection and a national civilized city, and in assisting in the 9th Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities" by guiyang education system.
