In Qingjiang village of Huali town, Kaiyang county, 1,000-mu (66.67-hectares) of cherry orchards are ready for harvest. Along the G354 national highway, lines of stalls selling fresh cherries attract the attention of passersby and tourists from far and wide.

Thanks to its unique climatic conditions, fertile soil, and convenient location, Qingjiang has been cultivating the specialty fruit industry for many years. The excellent quality of its cherries, convenient transportation, and rich leisure experiences have made the village a popular destination for spring cherry picking among residents from nearby counties.

But Qingjiang has moved beyond just fruit picking. Relying on its high-quality natural resources, the village has developed a diverse range of cultural tourism offerings, including rural homestays, camping, fishing, and paddleboarding. After picking cherries, visitors can stay in rural accommodations or try water sports like paddleboarding.

Huali plans to focus on high-quality agricultural products like Qingjiang cherries to enhance the integration of agriculture and tourism. By improving supporting services and enriching rural leisure experiences, the town aims to build a brand for specialty fruit picking tours.

Such efforts will promote the deep integration and coordinated development of specialty agriculture, rural tourism, and outdoor sports, expanding income avenues for villagers and accelerating the rural vitalization.
