The Kaiyang 2026 Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Lantern Festival Event kicked off at the Kaiyang County Stadium on Feb 25.

Eighteen ICH performance teams representing Kaiyang's different towns, townships, and sub-districts proceeded slowly along the route to the rhythm of cheerful drumbeats. Performers, dressed in various traditional costumes and holding exquisite decorations and props, showcased the unique charm of each ICH project.

A variety of ICH folk performances, such as dragon dances, lion dances, Yang opera, Di opera, lantern opera, Lusheng dances (reed-pipe dance), waist drum performances, and fan dances, were presented, eliciting waves of laughter from the audience.
Wherever the parade went, citizens gathered on both sides of the street to watch, with cheers and applause echoing, raising their phones and cameras to capture the wonderful moments.
This parade presented a cultural feast to citizens, enriching their Spring Festival and further enhancing Kaiyang's reputation.
