Kaiyang helps traditional enterprises embark on technological innovation

Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is known for its abundant phosphate reserves. In recent years, it has pursued innovative development strategies to help traditional phosphorus chemical enterprises transform and upgrade.

While continuously increasing the scale and number of innovative enterprises, Kaiyang is making every effort to promote the development of innovation and entrepreneurship platforms by accelerating the transformation and implementation of technological innovations. The goal is to help enterprises connect with high-quality innovation resources and attract a series of top-notch technology projects to conduct further research and industrial application in Kaiyang.

In 2022, 11 industrial enterprises above a designated size in the county invested 215 million yuan ($30.21 million) in research and development (R&D), marking a 73.1 percent increase. This impressive growth rate ranked Kaiyang second in the city.

In 2023, reported R&D investment reached 267 million yuan. As of now, there are nine innovation platforms in the county. In 2024, Kaiyang will support Guizhou Anda Technology Energy Co in applying to become a manufacturing innovation center, Guizhou Sunward Chemical Co in becoming a provincial-level enterprise technology center, and another two companies in becoming municipal-level enterprise technology centers.

In 2024, the county is supporting the implementation of one provincial-level major project for the application and industrialization of scientific achievements and helping Guizhou Kailin Group Co and KingAgroot Co, in collaboration with Guizhou University, to apply for two provincial-level achievement transformation projects.
