Longguang village in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has greatly benefited from the burgeoning sojourn industry since June of this year.
As one of China's first ethnic minority villages, Longguang village is located at an altitude of 800 to 1200 meters and is blessed with a pleasant climate and 70 percent forest coverage rate, as well as abundant natural beauty and attractions like Nanjiang Grand Canyon. Visitors have all praised the scenic views and homestay services, with one tourist from Qinghai noting the unique environment and warm hospitality.
Yao Hongfang, a local homestay owner, said that her homestay hosts tourists from Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, and other places, with some staying for over 40 days. Since her homestay began welcoming visitors in July, it has been nearly fully booked every day.
The sojourn industry not only provides an ideal opportunity for tourists to enjoy nature and relax but also injects strong momentum into the village's economy. In just a few months, the village's homestays have received 96 online bookings for over 700 guests and 61 offline bookings for more than 500 guests, generating over 750,000 yuan ($105,300) in revenue. The village collective also saw an income increase of 38,000 yuan.
