As spring deepens, Dingfang village in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, known as "Peach Blossom Paradise", is now in its prime viewing season. Over 260 mu (17.33 hectares) of peach orchards with more than 20 premium varieties are in full bloom.
In recent years, Dingfang village has adopted a unique shareholding model to promote peach farming: 5 percent is held by the village committee, 20 percent by the original company, and 75 percent by the cooperative.
Planting peaches adds over 80,000 yuan ($10,968) to collective income and creates jobs for more than 50 households, involving over 100 individuals. The peach industry has become a key driver of increased income and prosperity for residents.
The blossom season lasts until mid-to-late April, and the juicy, sweet peaches ripen by late May, drawing many visitors to pick the fruits. Thus, the village is actively exploring a "peach + tourism" development model, integrating peach farming with rural tourism to establish new rural attractions.
