Recommended travel destinations during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday

With the arrival of the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which falls on Sept 19-21 this year, several sightseeing destinations in Kaiyang county are recommended to people looking to experience countryside scenery and explore nature.

Nanjiang Grand Canyon 

Nanjiang Grand Canyon is a 4A-level tourist scenic spot located just 39 kilometers from Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The scenic spot boasts various kinds of scenery, including peaks, canyons, cliffs, waterfalls, creeks, boulders, and karst forests, presenting a unique and beautiful canyon landscape. 

In addition to visiting Jinzhong Waterfall – Asia's largest travertine waterfall, the country's longest hanging wooden plank road, and Guizhou's largest wild mandarin duck community, tourists can also go rafting and participate in CS live-action field experience expansion projects.

The canyon has earned the titles "China's Best Green Ecological Scenic Spot", "China Sports Tourism Project", "Guizhou Top Ten Charming Scenic Spot", and "Guizhou Outdoor Sports Tourism Leisure Base".

Tourists can enjoy a 50 percent discount on tickets during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.

Houer Sinkhole Scenic Area

The Houer Sinkhole Scenic Area is a millennia-old karst landscape. The word "Houer" means "monkey's ears", a name inspired by the sinkhole's shape.

The scenic area is located in Chengguan town, 62 km from Guiyang.

The scenic area features pits, cliffs, underground rivers, caves, and waterfalls, offering a mysterious and secluded scenic experience.

A series of unique extreme sports are also on offer, bringing it to the top of the annual county-level internet attraction rankings on video-sharing app Douyin.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the scenic area offers a 30 percent discount on tickets for all extreme sports.

Shili Hualang Scenic Area

Shili Hualang Scenic Area is located between Hefeng township and Qinglong River in Nanjiang township. 

There are many ethnic villages located along the scenic area, featuring the culture of the Bouyei people, Tusi culture, and culture related to the history of the Party.

The scenery is beautiful and the ethnic customs are unique. 

The scenic area is a must-visit destination for tourists with cars and for those who enjoy rafting, vacationing, entertainment and leisure.
