The mountainous county of Kaiyang, administered by Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently declared 16 key tasks in promoting its rural revitalization in 2021.
According to a series of newly launched policy documents, Kaiyang will boost comprehensive rural revitalization in its industry, workforce, culture and the environment.
In 2021, plans are for Kaiyang to establish a rural revitalization demonstration belt centering on the Nanjiang and Hefeng areas, as well as more than three rural revitalization demonstration pilot sites at the municipal and provincial levels.
It will also establish three demonstration sites for "three-sense villages" -- referring to villages providing a sense of gain, happiness and security.

To achieve these goals, plans are for Kaiyang to develop modern high-altitude and high-standard farmland, promote the efficiency of agricultural industries and streamline the processing of agricultural products.
The plans also include promoting the construction of digital villages, accelerating the development of the mountain-area agricultural machinery industry and carrying out the development of rural culture.
There are also plans to strengthen conservation of the environment, promote the market-oriented operation of public infrastructure, as well as upgrade rural residential areas and extend various other rural reforms.
In addition, under the plan, the county will continue to build a strong rural revitalization work organization and establish a rural revitalization public welfare development fund management center.
