Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is pushing rural education revitalization to promote high-quality education development, according to local media reports.
The county will work to achieve this goal through a three-pronged approach.
The first step is to establish a leading group for rural revitalization work and an office for rural education revitalization.
In addition, Kaiyang will strengthen funding guarantees. For the spring semester of 2021, the county offered funding of 19.76 million yuan ($3.02 million) to primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, benefiting 9,417 children in 46 rural public kindergartens, 30,992 students in 62 elementary schools, 10,888 students in 16 junior high schools and 5,260 students in two senior high schools.
The county will also improve teaching quality. It will offer "smart education" application training to 128 teachers from 32 schools to improve the education quality in rural areas.
