The Huali town middle school in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held an activity on Jan 11 to offer assistance to left-behind children, according to local media reports.
The school provided school bags, shoes, socks and other learning and daily necessities worth more than 3,500 yuan ($539.7) to more than 60 left-behind students.
A total of 28 faculty members recorded the students' daily education and living conditions to learn about their difficulties and offer help.
The school will continue to pay attention to the students' problems in their studies and life and organize faculty members to offer help through irregular home visits, "one-on-one" learning guidance and psychological counseling, among other steps.
According to the school, the intention is to help students succeed academically and overcome their living difficulties.
