Residents in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, now have access to more fitness facilities. The construction of the county's sports projects in 2020 has finished, and all amenities have gone into use.
In 2020, the county built 10 small fitness squares and three green fitness trails. Squares were built in Xicheng sub-district, Yunkai sub-district, Fengsan, Shuangliu and Huali towns, as well as Zhaiji and Miping townships. Each square is equipped with a set of table tennis tables and three chess tables.
Ten-kilometer fitness trails were built in Shitou village of Zixing sub-district, Majiang village of Fengsan town, and Sanhe village of Shuangliu town. Chairs, pavilions, public restrooms and fitness facilities have been constructed along each trail.
The county now boasts 20 small fitness squares and five green fitness trails with a total length of 70 km. These spaces offer locals and visitors convenient fitness activities and also enrich residents' spiritual and cultural lives.
In the future, Kaiyang county will continue to adhere to the concepts of innovation, coordination, greenness, openness and shared development to improve its cultural, tourism and sporting facilities.
The county will also organize various cultural and sporting events and promote the healthy development of its sports sector.
