The new novel coronavirus nucleic acid testing laboratory at the Kaiyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently passed a review by an expert team sent by the Guiyang health bureau.
The green light meant the addition of another novel coronavirus test laboratory to Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The new facility obtained a score of 92.8 based on assessment of such aspects as the laboratory zone setting, air flow directions, testing processes, quality controls, personnel testing qualifications and safety protection.
All testing personnel at the center have completed pre-job training and obtained polymerase chain reaction testing certificates.
When the approval document is issued, the laboratory can test the novel coronavirus nucleic acid daily for more than 500 people.
Kaiyang county now has two nucleic acid testing labs – in the Kaiyang People's Hospital and in the Kaiyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention – which are expected to further strengthen the county's epidemic detection capabilities.
